Seunguk Shin, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Texas A&M University Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications. His research interests are rooted in the dynamics of human-nature relationships and interactions. In particular, his research aims to understand what makes people engage in behavior that benefits the environment and promotes sustainability from a social psychology perspective. He engages with various natural resource stakeholders including landowners, recreationists, and children to understand how experiential and psychological factors shape how they think and act regarding environmental issues. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Environmental Psychology. Currently, he is primarily involved in an environmental communication project to assess the effect of source credibility on public perceptions of science.
