Professional Summary

Ashley N. Pellerin, M.S., is a doctoral student in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications at Texas A&M University. She has been employed with the Texas Extension System for over 10 years and is currently employed by the Prairie View A&M University-Cooperative Extension Program (PVAMU-CEP) as an Extension Program Specialist focusing on livestock production & management. As a county agent in Smith Co., TX with PVAMU-CEP for four years, Ms. Pellerin worked closely with limited resource/minority/historically underserved producers & landowners in the areas of agricultural production, beginning farmer education and land management and conservation. In 2016, she became a county agent for 4-H and Youth Development in Harris County, TX with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, where she was also the 4-H Coordinator for the county. In that role, she implemented various youth educational programs and adult volunteer training. She also helped to coordinate the livestock supply point for Harris Co. following Hurricane Harvey. In 2018, she moved to her current role where she works with agriculture and natural resources county agents, research scientists, staff, and community-based organizations to plan, implement and evaluate livestock & forage management programs for limited-resource and small acreage producers in Texas. Ms. Pellerin has pulled in just under $600,000 in grant funds to support limited resource producer and landowner education.
