Professional Summary
Barry L. Boyd, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, & Communications. He has served as the Editor of the Journal of Leadership Education. He was recognized by ALE in 2019 with the Northouse Distinguished Teaching Award. Dr. Boyd is also a Montague – Center for Teaching Excellence Scholar and is a Thaman Professor in Undergraduate Teaching Excellence. Dr. Boyd’s research includes teaching and assessing critical thinking and using critical thinking in ethical decision-making. His team developed the QUEEN Model of Critical Thinking as well as the QUEEN Student Self-Assessment tool as part of a NIFA Higher Education grant. Dr. Boyd’s research addresses the gap between essential skills required by employers and what is being taught in universities. He has served as the editor of the Journal of Leadership Education.
