Taylor Apple

Taylor Kennedy Apple is a doctoral candidate in agricultural communications in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications at Texas A&M University. Before joining the department as a graduate teaching assistant, she served as an instructor of agricultural communications at Tarleton State University – a member of the Texas A&M University System. Courses she taught included Introduction to Agricultural Communications, Scientific Communications in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Agricultural Photography, Agricultural Graphic Design, Agricultural Podcasting, Development of Agricultural Publications, Agricultural Video Production, and Advanced Technologies in Agricultural Communications (web design).

Her research and teaching interests center on agricultural communications, employability skills, and agricultural literacy. Her current projects, including her dissertation, explore the intersection of agricultural literacy and employability of agricultural communications graduates. Additional studies explore transformative learning, science communication, and the use of innovative tools like generative artificial intelligence to enhance reflective and imaginative learning experiences.

Her master’s research, Updating the Agricultural Communications Curriculum: A Modified Delphi Study, identified 108 competencies undergraduate agricultural communications students are expected to possess upon graduation according to agricultural communication industry professionals.
