The Undergraduate Research program promotes, coordinates, creates, and assesses undergraduate programs involving creative scholarship, inquiry, and research in all academic disciplines at Texas A&M University. Undergraduate researcher, Austin Vetter, completed the Undergraduate Research Scholars Thesis program this academic year. “The thesis program helped me to develop valuable skills outside the classroom. I explored the impact of nationalism on refugees resettling into Texas communities,” said Vetter. Austin’s interest in international affairs guided his research. “The undergraduate research program at Texas A&M refined my interests, strengthened my writing abilities, and better prepared me for future endeavors.” Dr. Gary Wingenbach served as the faculty advisor for Mr. Vetter. “LAUNCH, and especially the research scholars program, provide excellent opportunities to elevate undergraduates’ research skills,” said Wingenbach.
