2020 Buck Weirus Spirit Award
Shannon was selected as a 2020 Buck Weirus Spirit Award recipient by the Association of Former Students. She is a current PhD graduate assistant and the Speaker and Executive Vice President of the Graduate and Professional Student Government. Undergraduate Research Scholars
The Undergraduate Research program promotes, coordinates, creates, and assesses undergraduate programs involving creative scholarship, inquiry, and research in all academic disciplines at Texas A&M University. Undergraduate researcher, Austin Vetter, completed the Undergraduate Research Scholars Thesis program this academic year. “The thesis program helped me to develop valuable skills outside the classroom. Aggie spirit award
It is such a privilege and an honor to present Ty and Taylor Sutton as the Aggie spirit award. They are both examples of tremendous courage in spite of great hardship. Both Ty and Taylor are Agricultural Leadership & Development majors and in the Corps of Cadets here at A&M. 2020 Association of Former Students Distinguished Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Teaching
Lacey Roberts, a doctoral student in ALEC, was a recipient of the 2020 Association of Former Students Distinguished Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Teaching. The prestigious TAMU award is based on outstanding academic record and contributions in teaching, recognized and acknowledged by a distinguished committee of reviewers. Each awardee receives a framed certificate and an engraved watch. Roberts added, “It is truly an honor to receive this award out of so many qualified graduate students in our department alone.”
2020 Association of Former Students Distinguished Graduate Student Award for Excellence in Teaching
Each year the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies selects up to 15 graduate students from across the university to receive the Association of Former Students Distinguished Graduate Student Award. Students are recognized for exemplary accomplishments in one of two categories: Excellence in Research and Excellence in Teaching. Applicants are nominated by their faculty advisors and department and must meet strenuous eligibility requirements. AIAEE Student Representative
Danette Philpot, an ALEC doctoral student, was elected to the Association for International Agricultural and Extension (AIAEE) Executive Board as the Student Representative of the international organization. Ms. Philpot’s term will begin in April of this year and go through April of 2021. She will serve as one of seven voting board members on all items related to AIAEE business.
