At the 13th Annual Aggie 100 Gala held on Friday, Oct. 27, nine former students of the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communications (ALEC) were recognized for being a part of the 100 fastest growing Aggie-owned or Aggie-led businesses worldwide.
ALEC honorees included Tyler Merrick, Dave Lilley, Timothy White, Bradley Corbin, Kevin Bernhard, Trey Bader, Justin Peter, Nolan Butterfras and Penny Mariott Miller. Their businesses ranged from food and beverage, construction, and manufacturing to oil and gas, commercial services, and agriculture.
Created in 2005 by the Mays Business School’s McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship, the Aggie 100 honors those companies that meet the following four criteria: Aggie owned or led, revenues meeting or exceeding $250,000, in business for five years, and operate under the Aggie Code of Honor.
During the Aggie 100 weekend, honorees participated in several events on campus, including a reception, award program, speaker series and reunion tailgate prior to the Texas A&M University vs. Mississippi State football game.
In addition to recognizing and celebrating the newest Aggie 100 class, the Aggie 100 Gala serves as a forum for past honorees to pass lessons on to the next generation of Aggie entrepreneurs and to participate in their success.
