The ALEC Department will welcome current doctoral students participating in the Doc@Distance program to the College Station campus Dec. 11-12. Doc@Distance is a joint program between Texas A&M and Texas Tech University that allows students to obtain a Doctor of Education in Agricultural Education regardless of their geographical location.
This unique program began in fall 2000 with the induction of 20 mid-professionals from Texas. The opportunity to pursue this degree continues with a new cohort to be admitted fall 2013.
As part of each admitted cohort’s degree requirements, students are required to spend time on both the Texas A&M and Texas Tech campuses. The Dec. meeting will host students who were admitted into the doctoral program during the fall 2011 semester.
In addition, Texas Tech faculty involved in the Doc@Distance program will be on campus partaking in all activities with the cohort and Texas A&M faculty.
