Change of Major


Current TAMU Students

 

Thanks for your interest in changing majors to Agricultural Leadership & Development (ALED). Our students receive a Bachelors of Science and must complete 120 credit hours of coursework about Agriculture & Life Sciences, Leadership, Business, Communications, and an Emphasis Area of the student’s choosing. 

Meeting with an Advisor
If you are interested in changing majors, we recommend that you meet with an Undergraduate Advisor. You can find their contact information here.

During registration & pre-registration periods and during the first 2 weeks of the semester, advisors will not be meeting with students who are not currently in the ALED major.

Requirements to Apply:
- Minimum 2.0 Cumulative GPA
- No more than 90 completed hours
- Must have an interest in Agriculture AND Leadership
- An agricultural course completed (plant or animal science preferred)
- C's or better in any ALED course completed
- Be in good academic & conduct standing with Texas A&M
- Must have an idea of their desired Emphasis Area

Change of Major Application Information

Application Deadlines

Students may apply any time during the semester; however applications will only be reviewed after certain dates during the semester (after midterms & final grades):

 

Spring Semester: March 15th & May 14th

Summer Semester: August 15th 

Fall Semester: October 17th & December 19th

*Applications due by 5:00pm

Remember, that the depth of your answers, grammar and professionalism will be IMPORTANT. We highly encourage you to spend time on the application and have others review your answers. Your application will be denied if your answers are not thorough and professional.
